Ways to Find Jobs on Facebook
So… you are thinking about getting on Facebook today but you know that you have to look for a job. Why not get the best of both worlds! That’s right you can look for jobs while chatting with your friends on Facebook messenger. No matter what your age or type of position that you are looking for Facebook can be an awesome way to find a job. Think about it… companies all have fan pages right? Wouldn’t it make sense for them to post jobs for free there?
There is also this awesome tool called the “Work for US” Tab that companies can put on their fan page and it’s amazing how it puts a career section like you’d see on a website right at their fingertips. So all you have to do is think about all the companies that are ones you’d like to work for and see if they have that application installed. If they do you can upload your resume right on the page. If they don’t have that tab installed just leave a note on their wall and ask if they have any openings. The worse thing they can say is that they don’t have any current openings but at least you let them know that you were interested.
Other companies run ads that encourage people to go to their page… I know it sounds crazy but that’s one of the ways people find jobs by using Facebook these days. Companies are looking to save money any way that they can and running ads on Facebook is a lot cheaper than tossing job postings up on the big job boards. Monster and CareerBuilder can cost over 200 dollars a posting and local ads in the paper are even more expensive than that! Make sure you use all of your social media tools available to you in your job search and you’ll do great!
